March 3: Neighborhood Bible Church (NBC) launched - 42 people met at Roseville Dance Studio, led by Pastor Robert D. & LaHoma Clark. Acquired property on the corner of Verner Ave. & Greenback Lane. Pastor Robert broke ground; began construction of the new building.
New sanctuary was built as more families attended NBC.
Divine Moment: Pastor Robert sincerely desired for our church to reach its full potential. He prayed for revival and shared his prayer theme with his wife, LaHoma: “Whatever It Takes”, based on the song by L. Wolfe.
Pastor Robert’s life was suddenly taken in a tragic car accident. However, the fulfillment of his prayer began to unfold and was a turning point in the church’s spiritual journey.
Pastor Wayne Clark, Pastor Robert’s son became Senior Pastor. Young families were added, and children’s ministries grew tremendously. NBC entered a growth phase.
Pastor Mark & Cathy Tucker joined as Youth Pastors
In 1992, Pastor Mark was elected to Senior Pastor by the church membership.
NBC outgrew its current facility and began a 2-year search for a new location.
A new location was found at 8101 Sunset Ave., Fair Oaks, CA. NBC name changed to New Life Community Church.
Scriptures were written on the walls during the launch of the remodel-prophetic promises.
Divine Moment: Pastor Mark prayed for a fresh revelation on how New Life should reach its new community. The Lord revealed two things:
• Build a good name for the kingdom
• Love the kids and you will reach the families in the community
Administrative offices were moved off-site so that ministries could expand.
Growth Groups and Life Groups were launched.
Over 300 people gathered weekly in small groups.
New Life celebrated its 50th Anniversary.
Online services were launched to expand our weekend reach locally and globally.
A prophetic word was given by Pastor Jeremy Johnson that a season of expansion is on the horizon.
Our legacy continues...
